Tyler Herro scored 21 points and Bam Adebayo contributed 24 points with 13 rebounds to lead Miami Heat past shorthanded Milwaukee Bucks 137-95 on Thursday night.

Since returning from an injury of six weeks’ duration, he is experiencing great success, setting career-bests in points, assists, steals and two and three-point shooting percentage.

Details

Tyler Herro has been instrumental in leading Miami Heat’s offensive attack, averaging 22 field goal attempts per game over his first five games as part of their lineup and leading all reserves in scoring.

Last week, a fifth-year guard made strides toward returning from injury and seems to be getting back into his comfort zone. Prior to his injury, he relied more on defense and ball distribution rather than shooting threes or attacking off the dribble.

This season, he’s focused on scoring at the basket and capitalizing on more free-throw opportunities, while increasing efficiency from the field and taking full advantage of his newly assumed role as starting point guard.

Once Tyler Herro returns from injury this postseason, his production and shot-making abilities will be difficult for the Heat to replicate. Based on Erik Spoelstra’s statement, it doesn’t appear likely he’ll return in time for next Monday’s opener against Philadelphia 76ers; Bam Adebayo and Duncan Robinson should gain from additional opportunities within the lineup.

Tyler Herro finished with 21 points (7-19 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 3-3 FT), six rebounds, four assists and three steals across 28 minutes during Wednesday’s 110-96 win over the Lakers.

Tyler Herro continues to demonstrate his ability as an all-around contributor, averaging 23.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and four assists per contest while shooting 41% from 3-point range over his last five contests.

Herro’s 21-point performance against the Lakers was his finest of the season and brought him closer to matching his career high of 30 points, set on December 16 against Utah Jazz. Herro displayed efficiency in his approach while still remaining an effective scorer from anywhere on the floor; including two highlight reel layups and a buzzer-beating three pointer that kept Lakers fans enthralled throughout.

Marcus Smart was out due to an ankle sprain but the Heat were still able to come back strong against the Lakers behind a strong bench performance led by Tyler Herro’s 21-point performance and quality contributions in the paint; thus helping Miami overcome a double-digit fourth quarter deficit and secure a season series win against them and head home for their matchup against Suns on Monday night.

Herro amassed 25 points (9-22 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 5-5 FT), six rebounds, six assists, one block and one steal in 39 minutes during Saturday’s 117-109 loss to the Jazz.

Herro has quickly made a name for himself as one of the NBA’s up-and-coming talents thanks to his exceptional scoring ability, offensive versatility and commitment to continuous improvement. His shooting prowess and drive for growth will propel him towards greater prominence within the league as time progresses; for now though, this second-year guard’s focus remains healthy development contribution and staying healthy.

Herro may have been feeling under the weather on Saturday night against Utah Jazz, but that didn’t keep him from producing in Miami’s victory over them. Herro recorded team-high 25 points in first half scoring to help Miami establish a 37 point advantage by halftime.

Miami Heat’s newly appointed starting point guard continued his outstanding play in the second half, scoring another 15 points including three 3-pointers to help establish a 95-67 advantage and secure their victory.

Bam Adebayo registered two double-doubles while Jimmy Butler (calf injury) and Markieff Morris (whiplash) sat out.
