It tells the tale of Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto, an accomplished chef who inherits his brother’s hole-in-the-wall Chicago sandwich shop after their brother passes away and hopes of turning it into Michelin-star worthy eatery; but is hindered by personal financial struggles, toxic workplace culture and resistance to change he meets resistance during this attempt. With its success so far The Bear is set for renewal for season 2.
FX
FX’s The Bear, about an internationally-recognized chef who returns to run his family’s sandwich shop after his brother’s death, is an intense and darkly comedic drama. While not resorting to profanity or near-altercations to demonstrate chaos associated with running a restaurant, The Bear still conveys feelings of impostor syndrome and anxiety that come from running one.
At Monday night’s Emmy Awards, Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edibiri of FX’s Lucifer won best comedy series for their roles on that series; Ebon Moss-Bachrach made their acceptance speeches truly unforgettable by planting a long kiss on Matty Matheson during her acceptance speech!
Kissing caught him completely by surprise, yet he quickly recovered by laughing it off as just an unfortunate fluke. However, their onscreen rapport is strong, with FX’s The Bear airing its first season and receiving rave reviews from both audiences and critics alike. FX’s The Bear follows Carmy and Sydney as they attempt to turn an outdated eatery into something worthy of being called an establishment of note.
