Reality star David Tetrault opens up about his seven-year marriage to Christina Hall from Flip or Flop.
Tarek El Moussa and Christina Hall had no way of anticipating how powerfully Flip or Flop would impact their lives when they first landed their hit reality show in 2013. Over ten seasons, the HGTV stars experienced on-set arguments, health problems and divorce; but for Tarek alone it was 2016 which brought him down the most.
Tarek recounts this day in his new book, Flip Your Life: How to Find Opportunity in Distress–in Real Estate, Business and Life. After an argument with his ex-wife in Yorba Linda, Tarek decided to go hiking at Chino Hills State Park nearby – hopping over fences into park with pistol legally carried legally under California laws for “insurance policy purposes.” As soon as he hit trails he saw a helicopter approaching.
He initially believed it was a firetruck coming to help, but soon realized it was actually a police helicopter out looking for him. At first he thought that his actions had simply scared away wild animals in the area; unaware that this set off an extensive police hunt in response.
After his arrest and interrogation by police, he recalls being interrogated about his involvement. At that time he still held out hope that Christina Hall could reconcile; unfortunately that hope was dashed the following year when he discovered she had moved on with Ant Anstead and that they shared four-year-old Hudson together.
Even though learning of Hall and Anstead’s engagement was devastating for him, he has since moved forward with his own family life. In 2021 he married Selling Sunset co-star Heather Rae and they now share one son together: Tristan.
Flip Your Life author Peter Beattie does not regret how he handled his divorce with Hall. According to PEOPLE exclusively, Beattie believes everything worked out perfectly with both himself and new wife Heather now being happy together.
Hall is busy building her new life with Josh Hall, their two children (a daughter and son) being her priority. Additionally, she’s working on Return to Flip or Flop’s premiere in September where she’ll join Josh, his three other adult children as cast members; watch below for the trailer.
