Fox will premiere season 18 of So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD), complete with an updated format and fresh judges: JoJo Siwa will join co-creator Nigel Lythgoe, SYTYCD All Star Allison Holker from Dancing With the Stars Choreographer Allison Holker, Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

Siwa boasts 70 million followers on social media and released her debut album in 2020. Additionally, she is the adopted daughter of tWitch Boss.

She Opened Up About Her Grief

Allison Holker has been working to find ways to move on since the death of Stephen “tWitch” Boss last December by taking steps such as preparing for SYTYCD season 18’s return and publishing her children’s book Keep Dancing Through.

In an interview with ET’s Nischelle Turner, dancer Tiffani Thiessen opened up about her transitional phase and how it is affecting both herself and her children. She revealed how having a solution-driven mindset helps her overcome difficulties that arise during everyday life.

Mom of three, Amanda has also discussed her perspective on dating after loss and revealed that she hopes to find someone who can be there through both good times and difficult ones.

She Shared a Video of Her Dancing With Her Husband

Holker posted the video as a way of remembering her late husband, Stephen “tWitch” Boss (deceased in December by suicide). Holker is also mother to Weslie (15), Maddox (7) and Zaia (3) and has been trying to find ways of dealing with his loss.

Fox will premiere season 18 of SYTYCD on March 4, 2024 with host Cat Deeley serving as judge alongside Alison Holker (who competed on SYTYCD and was married to co-creator/lead judge Nigel Lythgoe), Maksim Chmerkovskiy from Dancing With The Stars, and host Cat Deeley serving as hosts. A revamped format will also be in play this time around.

JoJo Siwa will replace Lythgoe after she decided to step down after facing multiple sexual assault lawsuits this month. At 20, Siwa joins Holker and Chmerkovskiy as judges this season; Comfort Fedoke from Broadway’s Wicked (London West End) will also guest judge auditions this time around.

She Shared a Video of Her Dancing With Her Children

Dancer, television host and mother-of-two Angela Boss has been sharing more dance videos since her husband Stephen Boss died last year.

She recently shared a video of herself dancing with Maddox, 7, and Zaia, 3; both children showcased disco moves to Brittany Perry-Russell’s track ‘You Spin Me Right Round.

Holker will return to SYTYCD as a judge this season 18 years after she competed on its second season, joining Maksim Chmerkovskiy from Dancing with the Stars (DWTS) and Emmy-nominated judge Nigel Lythgoe (SYTYCD alum/Emmy nominee judge) at the judges’ table. Cat Deeley (DWTS and Emmy nominated host) will also serve on that panel of judges and emcee the show.

Fans of SYTYCD will also be relieved to hear that teen star and dancer Jenna Ortega Siwa is replacing Lythgoe, who had to step down after sexual harassment allegations were filed against him. SYTYCD returns on Fox March 4.

She Shared a Video of Her Dancing With Her Friends

After Holker announced her return to So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD), she shared an emotional video. Holker who met late husband Stephen “tWitch” Boss while filming SYTYCD 2006 danced along to Puff Daddy’s 1997 hit ‘I’ll Be Missing You’ as an emotional tribute.

Fans were quick to commend Holker for being so strong in her recovery process and finding new meaning in life after such a tragic loss. One user wrote, “I can see you are happy again; it’s beautiful to watch you dance!”

On March 4th, American Idol will make its return for its 18th season on Fox and Hulu. JoJo Siwa will replace Nigel Lythgoe as judge alongside Holker and Maksim Chmerkovskiy – two former competitors on the series who also served as judges – while its new documentary-style storytelling format will explore contestants’ personal lives, daily struggles, new relationships and personality clashes.
