Actor Lee Sun-kyun Found Dead Amid Drugs Probe

Lee Sun-kyun, best known for his roles in MBC dramas such as ‘Behind the White Tower’, ‘Coffee Prince’ and ‘Pasta’ has been found dead after his wife reported him missing. At 48, police discovered his lifeless body inside a car parked at one of Seoul’s parks near charcoal briquettes that may have led to carbon monoxide poisoning.

Lee’s Wife Jeon Hye-jin Calls Police After Finding Suicide Note

Local media reported that actor’s wife Jeon Hye-jin had called police upon finding what appeared to be a suicide note in their car, according to Yonhap news agency. Yonhap reported that Jeon had already been questioned three times over allegations of illegal drug use – with one session lasting 19 hours over the weekend according to Yonhap news agency – though he denied these accusations and claimed a bar hostess tricked him into taking drugs.

Lee was born in 1975 and attended Korea’s National University of Arts for drama studies, where his performances in medical drama White Tower and youthful romance Coffee Prince earned critical acclaim. Additionally, Sleep was well received by critics. Lee is survived by his wife and two sons.

Lee’s Death Amid Drugs Investigation
