Apple with their brand-new free iPhone app: Apple Sports. Offering real-time scores and stats as well as customizable tracking for favorite teams, this free offering provides real-time scores and stats updates for fans of all kinds.

Apple app currently covers Major League Soccer (MLS), NBA and NCAA basketball (both men’s and women’s), NHL, Bundesliga LaLiga Ligue 1 Premier League soccer competitions as well as additional sports that may be added in future updates.

Real-time Sports scores and stats

Apple is making waves in the app market with its new standalone offering called Apple Sports, designed to deliver scores and stats as quickly as possible.

Apple today unveiled a free app enabling users to customize a scoreboard for Major League Soccer (MLS), NBA basketball, men’s and women’s NCAA basketball, NHL hockey, Bundesliga La Liga Ligue Premiere A and Serie A leagues – plus further leagues will be added as their seasons get underway.

Each game includes a shortcut link that leads directly to streaming service (Apple TV or another provider) where it is taking place, signaling Apple’s move into the multibillion-dollar live sports streaming business. Although Apple entered late into this arena compared with media companies who long had exclusive rights over live games, their massive audience of iPhone users makes Apple an ideal platform for providing real-time sports stats and data updates.

Live betting odds

Apple’s pursuit of sports remains strong. After signing Major League Soccer Season Pass and airing Friday Night MLB Games on Apple TV+ and even considering taking on NFL rights with its rumored OTT service, the company will release Apple Sports, an app designed to help fans keep tabs on scores, real-time stats and more.

This app is easy for anyone to use: users simply select their favorite teams and leagues to follow, with live scores updating throughout each upcoming game and other pertinent details displayed live. By tapping into any game, more in-depth stats such as play-by-play commentary, team stats, lineup information and betting odds (which can be disabled via settings) become visible.

Apple says they have partnered with numerous providers to collect this data quickly, updating the app as often as possible. NBA, NHL and MLS will all feature in its debut. Football leagues from England France Germany such as LaLiga Serie A Bundesliga will also provide access to data quickly for viewing purposes. Finally men’s and women’s NCAA basketball will also be covered within this app.

Apple Sports app features support for Major League Soccer (MLS), NBA, NHL and men’s and women’s college basketball leagues; Premier League soccer; Bundesliga in Germany, Ligue 1 in France and Serie A soccer from Italy as well as additional leagues that will begin their seasons this year.

Apple Sports app works as both a standalone download and integrates seamlessly with Apple TV and Apple News services, offering live streaming of games when possible. Customizable scoreboard

Apple Sports launches with an initial focus on Major League Soccer (MLS) and NBA, with more sports set to join as their seasons commence. You’ll be able to select events as favorite as well as receive real-time information on those teams and leagues you select as favorites.

Eddy Cue is an avid sports fan himself and often attends NBA games in his home city of Philadelphia. Yet even he acknowledges that many current offerings don’t do a great job at showing what’s happening during games; that is where Apple Sports may come into play.
