Martha Stewart has been sharing details from behind-the-scenes of her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover shoot on the TODAY show, making her one of the oldest SI Swimsuit cover models ever. Additionally, she revealed some details about her beauty routine – no filters used on Instagram photos nor using skin care regimen to remain camera ready – although she’s admitted having fillers and Botox done in the past.
Martha Stewart came into prominence during the ’80s after publishing numerous cookbooks and creating Martha Stewart Living. Since then, her empire has expanded to encompass furniture, clothing and kitchenware product lines as well as being featured regularly on popular talk shows such as Oprah Winfrey Show and Larry King Live.
Martha Stewart, 82, is an internationally-known lifestyle and advice expert who frequently appears on television programs like The View, Good Morning America and The Late Show with David Letterman. Additionally, Martha has written multiple best-selling books that reach over 100 million consumers monthly; additionally her eponymous magazine reaches more than that number too! Over recent years Martha has also made appearances on Martha Bakes and Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Party Challenge (with rapper Snoop Dogg).
Stewart made headlines this week when her Sports Illustrated swimsuit spread made its debut and broke records, becoming the oldest SI Swimsuit cover model ever. When critics suggested her photos had been overly Photoshopped or that she’d had plastic surgery, Stewart swiftly shut them down by insisting she has no record of either occurring.
Stewart looked incredible in this spread featuring her in a blue one-piece and black-and-white striped bikini. Her expression was pure joy as she stood with one hand firmly planted on her hip while tilting back her head, smiling into the camera. Stewart’s makeup artist did an outstanding job of adding natural-looking skin tone and eye shadow, yet still managed to add color through her hair!
She showed up for the shoot wearing bright pink lipstick with a bold orange lip shade and a rosy pout, in addition to sporting light pink manicure and pedicure with small diamond rings adorning both hands. Finally, she completed her ensemble with sunglasses with bold orange trims as well as a woven clutch with bold orange trimmings.
On her podcast episode, Stewart shared details about her skincare and beauty routines, with host Dr. Dan Belkin inviting cosmetic dermatologist Dr. Dan Belkin onto the show to reveal his strategies for keeping Stewart looking youthful. Dr. Belkin revealed that Stewart has undergone both cheek fillers and muscle-relaxing Botox procedures since 2000; these helped keep her looking “natural and not overdone,” according to him. Though this treatment had temporarily stopped around 2004, Dr. Belkin noted it has resumed again recently.
