Goff has more than met his high expectations as quarterback of the Rams and led them to their best season ever in 2022, as well as making one Super Bowl appearance already.

Goff finished 22 of 27 passes for 277 yards and two scores against Detroit; only miscue was recovered by Darius Slay while also throwing for an unprecedented franchise-high 185 third down yards!

Goff has not been perfect this season, yet still ranks among the NFL’s premier quarterbacks. Completing over 65% of his passes while throwing 16 touchdowns while improving upon ball security by only throwing six interceptions this year.
Goff has led his team to more wins than losses this season and helped the Lions return to the playoffs after missing them in 1991. He’s proven his effectiveness across most game situations while excelling during nationally broadcast night games.
Les Snead told Goff’s camp this summer it would only be “when, not if” his contract would be extended and delivered on his promise when he signed a four-year, $134 million deal with him that greatly exceeded what was due this season. Goff now ranks among Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers in terms of quarterback rankings but to remain among their company will require consistently performing on big stages such as Detroit on Sunday night – something Goff achieved.

Goff led the Lions to their first division title since 1993 and first playoff win since 1984 in just his second season as quarterback, and helped put them in position to contend for a Super Bowl championship. From trading him away for struggling Stafford and draft picks in 2021, he proved himself worthy of leading this franchise, showing why he remains one of the premier quarterbacks in NFL today.
