Alex Turcotte scored his inaugural NHL goal and assisted on another as Los Angeles easily defeated Nashville 4-2 before the All-Star break. Carl Grundstrom and Trevor Lewis also scored to help Los Angeles end a four-game losing streak.

Tyson Barrie thought he had cut into Los Angeles’ lead at 6 minutes 9 seconds with an apparent goal from Tyson Barrie at 6 minutes 9, but Los Angeles successfully challenged for goaltender interference and overturned it.

Alex Turcotte Scores First NHL Goal and Assist

Turcotte scored his inaugural NHL goal and assisted on another, helping the Kings beat Nashville Predators 4-2 before the All-Star break. Carl Grundstrom also scored, while Kevin Fiala contributed an empty-netter.

Turcotte made his NHL debut and played 7:48 with one shot and an even plus/minus rating. Early in the second period, Quinton Byfield set him up in front of the net, whereupon Turcotte fired off a wrister that hit the post.

At 5:36 of the second period, Turcotte skated insidiously towards Nashville defenseman John Carlson before feeding Lewis. Former Dallas Stars forward one-timed the puck past Juuse Saros for his first professional goal and the Kings’ opening goal of the game. Tyson Barrie appeared to pull within one goal shortly thereafter but his attempt was challenged for goaltender interference.

Carl Grundstrom Scores

Grundstrom struck first for the Blue Jackets at 8:51 of the first period, capitalizing on a two-on-one rush by seizing control of the puck at center ice and skating to the right circle before wristing a shot past Juuse Saros’ glove. He has six goals and one assist this season from 14 appearances with 31 hits and 25 shots on goal – providing physical presence as well as scoring potential as part of their fourth line or middle six strategy as needed.

Lewis scored his inaugural goal of 2019 just in time to end a 28-game goal drought. A still developing young player, Lewis now has three points in nine games following Wednesday’s success. Quinton Anderson earned an assist for his first point since December 8th; although his defensive game remains solid recently, production has lagged behind; on Wednesday alone he logged 23:28 of ice time; this may help ensure him an NHL contract next season.

Kevin Fiala Scores Empty-Netter

Alex Turcotte scored his inaugural NHL goal and assisted on another as the Los Angeles Kings defeated the Nashville Predators 4-2 before the All-Star break. Carl Grundstrom and Trevor Lewis also scored for Los Angeles; David Rittich made 39 saves to preserve their win; Filip Forsberg and Philip Tomasino scored goals for Nashville, who now hold fourth place in the West division.

Fiala opened up scoring 19:25 into the game by seizing on a loose puck and shooting past Jonathan Quick with a wrister – giving him two goals in three games and reaching 10 assists on his way towards reaching 10-assisted mark for this season.

He assisted on Adrian Kempe’s power play goal during the second period and provided assistance on a goal from Vladimir Gavrikov with 6:39 remaining in regulation time. Tyson Barrie appeared to bring Nashville within one goal in the third, but this goal was overturned following a Kings challenge for goaltender interference.

Trevor Lewis Scores Goal

Lewis is an ideal bottom-six grinder. On Saturday he scored his inaugural game-winning goal of the season by deking out goaltender Connor Hellebuyck and firing home an easy backhander from behind his goalie’s backhander pad. Lewis may not be known as one of the league’s leading goal scorers but skates well, works tirelessly and sacrifices himself in defense or penalty kill duties with ease – amassing 84 goals in 824 career games over his 35 year career career span!

Lewis assisted Milan Lucic on scoring their opening goal 4 minutes and 39 seconds into the contest. Lewis is an effective but unspectacular depth scorer that should be considered in fantasy formats; however, his 13-game point drought makes adding him difficult in deeper leagues. Through 28 outings this season he has seven points, 51 shots on net, 17 hits and a plus-4 rating; according to Zach Dooley from the Kings’ official website this Wednesday against Nashville will mark their last game before their All-Star break on January 18th
