Kawhi Leonard Scores 36 to Help Los Angeles Clippers Top Atlanta Hawks 149-144 for Western Conference Player of the Week Western Conference Player of the Week Kawhi Leonard scored 36 points and James Harden contributed 30 as Los Angeles Clippers extended their winning streak to four games by beating Atlanta Hawks 149-144, finishing their 13 day road trip off in style, improving to 6-1 since November 30.
Atlanta was led by De’Andre Hunter’s 14 first-half points to tie it at 66-66 at halftime, before the third quarter was marked by six ties and three lead changes before Daniel Theis’ buzzer-beating 3-pointer gave Los Angeles a 102-101 edge entering the fourth.
Theis tallied eight rebounds and two blocks in his second game this season and played with an injured right hand. Clippers starting center Ivica Zubac (right calf strain) was held out due to load management considerations; Hawks center Clint Capela had played 47 out of 48 games prior to sitting out Sunday when Miami won their leg of this back-to-back set, so his status will be evaluated over time.
