Huawei may not make as many headlines as Apple or Samsung, but the Shenzhen-based conglomerate remains one of the world’s most dominant technology brands. Huawei currently holds the global telecommunication equipment manufacturing crown and stands to become the go-to choice in 5G infrastructure development? in addition to being one of the premier smartphone makers.

The US government alleges Huawei of conspiring with Chinese authorities to steal trade secrets and violate sanctions imposed against Iran and North Korea. They have also conducted an investigation against Meng Wanzhou, Huawei’s CFO and daughter of founder Ren, for allegedly defrauding banks so as to do business with Iran.
Huawei remains one of the top global brands, spending heavily on marketing to promote their products. They remain one of the most iconic names globally and continue to thrive thanks to rapid innovation that keeps up pace with demand and avoid complacency.
It’s a threat?
Huawei is being subject to an attack in the US, where officials fear it could allow Beijing to spy on American companies and citizens. Huawei has been accused of stealing intellectual property as well as violating sanctions against Iran, though they deny these accusations.
In May, the Commerce Department included Huawei on its entity list to limit U.S. companies from selling directly to Huawei without approval from appropriate government authorities. As a result, Google, Intel, Broadcom and Qualcomm all suspended any possible cooperation with Huawei for now.

Huawei made an extraordinary move by purchasing full-page ads in The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal as a statement against claims it poses a security risk in the US, experts note. By doing this, they hope to open up dialogue directly with both their target public as well as journalists.
The company is also taking aggressive steps into new markets where it does not previously operate, with an eye towards capitalizing on its brand value while limiting US components.
