Accelerated growth was attributed to more customers taking advantage of AI-powered applications like sentiment analysis and recommendation systems on the platform, and an increase in demand for data analytics services that help uncover patterns and trends within information.
Companies are increasingly turning to AI to build customer service tools that offer customized experiences and foster increased loyalty for their clients. Automated repetitive tasks and orchestrated complex workflows reduce manual intervention while training data models enable companies to develop chatbots which quickly answer queries or resolve problems quickly.
Microsoft’s AI strategy is paying off
One of the central themes in Microsoft’s earnings call with investors was how artificial intelligence is driving its cloud business and expanding market share. Investors appeared pleased, bidding up stock by 7% on Wednesday.

Sales related to AI increased 29% year over year in its latest quarter – surpassing management’s forecast and surpassing Amazon Web Services growth rates by an astounding margin.
Bernstein Research analysts stated that these results demonstrate how Microsoft has taken over AI from Google, potentially becoming an even larger hyperscale provider than Amazon Web Services (AWS).
On its call with investors and analysts, Microsoft highlighted several high-profile customers such as Airbnb and IKEA while also providing more details on Azure Copilot’s performance with existing users. This tool allows developers to automatically improve their code by rewriting and debugging, with Nadella noting it has increased developer efficiencies for GitHub customers by 35%; currently over one million paid customers use Azure Copilot; it serves a key part of Microsoft’s AI monetisation strategy by offering it alongside other cloud services.
