Grammy-winner Dave Meyers directed this 65-minute visual project, serving both as her album release and visual project. From steampunk flower-petal factories and post-apocalyptic futures to dream sequences, and featuring star cast members such as Ben Affleck, Colombian icon Sofia Vergara, Keke Palmer, Post Malone and Jenifer Lewis among many more – it features all types of visual and musical imagery to keep audiences engrossed from start to finish.
Though its two-minute trailer may give off sci-fi vibes, This Is Me… Now: A Love Story actually follows singer Ariana Grande through her experiences with love and heartbreak. According to its press release, Meyers will provide “an intimate, reflective, and seductive journey into her personally and publicly scrutinized love life.” Meyers is known as an award-winning director who specializes in music videos and commercials for Missy Elliott, Kendrick Lamar, Ariana Grande as well as several movies including one with Fat Joe currently in production.

Lopez describes that when producing and financing her cinematic project independently, she used personal experiences from her life to draw upon. The actress revealed four failed marriages as well as grieving for her late father’s death as inspirations. Lopez discusses how their emotional turmoil informed both the music on her new album as well as its narrative narrative of this unique cinematic experience.

There’s also an occult component, with Lopez meeting with an all-star Zodiac Panel (Keke Palmer, Sofia Vergara, Kim Petras, Neil deGrasse Tyson and Sadhguru) to discuss her hopeless romantic tendencies. When she continues bouncing from man to man without success it becomes apparent she may have some sort of compatibility issue with her sign, yet no denying her charms which shine through even the most absurd scenes. The trailer concludes with an unexpected wedding scene which leaves audiences eagerly anticipating what comes next from this unfliable pop queen!
