No matter the cold conditions of winter, fans were out in force to witness history being made. The Chiefs achieved this momentous achievement through careful maneuvering through playoffs with road victories over Buffalo and Baltimore being his first experience playing against hostile terrain in postseason play – thanks to Mahomes’ brilliant playmaking and an offense which had struggled throughout the year but pulled itself together into an unstoppable force during postseason play.

The game began uneventfully for much of the first half, and the Chiefs trailed 10-3 at halftime. However, second half was more lively as both teams exchanged field goals throughout most of the period; later in the third quarter Mahomes found tight end Travis Kelce for a 3-yard touchdown pass which cut San Francisco’s lead down to 13-10 before their fumble led directly to a 49ers field goal early in fourth quarter and almost resulted in another tie game until Butker kicked a 29-yard field goal with three seconds left in regulation which sent both teams into overtime!

In overtime, the Chiefs started out from their 3-yard line. Following a short punt and Mahomes connecting with Kelce again on a 22-yard touchdown pass to give Kansas City a 25-22 win. Mahomes completed 34 of 46 passes for 333 yards and two touchdowns while also amassing 66 rushing yards including 19-yard rush in overtime’s final drive.

Brett Veach and Andy Reid deserve immense credit for this turnaround. Together, they created one of the strongest rosters in the league before providing Mahomes with all of the resources to flourish – giving him every opportunity to excel as quarterback. That led to what many consider an unlikely NFL dynasty lead by one of its greatest ever quarterbacks; quite an incredible legacy built over five seasons! When Mahomes scored his final touchdown in front of an electric Power and Light District crowd a cheered in celebration; an unforgettable moment that will stay with those present now as well as future generations.
