Car Crash Outside New Year’s Concert Killing 2 And Injuring 5

As people were leaving a New Year’s concert, a Ford SUV collided with a Mitsubishi Outlander. Two people were killed while several more were injured.

Witnesses told NBC4 that the Ford driver disobeyed a stop sign at 60th Place and Normandie Avenue. Cell phone video shows it colliding with another car before colliding into a pole.

What happened?

Rochester police believe a Ford Expedition collided with an Uber shortly after a New Year?s concert had ended, sending both vehicles careening through pedestrians in a crosswalk and two other cars before sparking a large fire that took the Rochester fire department nearly an hour to extinguish. Two were fatalities while five others sustained injuries in this tragic event; band moe issued a statement through their social media outlets to express their sorrow over what had transpired.

Eyewitnesses have reported that when Moe finished performing at the Kodak Center on West Ridge Road, everyone rushed out. “Everyone kind of flooded towards the windows a bit to see how close they actually were,” according to concertgoer Lorne Mauldin.

At around 1 a.m. on June 27, two SUVs collided near a crosswalk, both parked. Due to the force of impact, both SUVs were propelled forward through an audience and into two other cars parked nearby, with several gasoline canisters found inside both SUVs involved in this deadly incident and investigation underway into whether this could have been an act of domestic terrorism.

Who were the drivers?

Rochester police and the FBI are joining forces in their investigation of a fiery crash and fire that resulted in two fatalities early New Year’s Day outside Kodak Center, near Rochester’s Kodak Center. A vehicle involved was discovered with at least 12 gas cans – which now makes this act of domestic terrorism a potential investigation target.

Cars collided at approximately 1 a.m. as over 1,000 concertgoers left a show by moe, sending both cars through pedestrians in a crosswalk before impacting two other cars that then exploded, sparking a fire that took firefighters nearly an hour to put out.

Investigators are investigating the driver of a Ford Expedition that struck a Mitsubishi Outlander near Syracuse while renting it, who has many gas cans in their vehicle at the time of impact. Investigators will also examine his devices and social media platforms to ascertain why so much gas was contained therein.

Why did the cars crash?

On New Year’s Eve morning, an SUV collided with a Mitsubishi vehicle as they left a parking lot early – sending both through a crowd walking on a crosswalk and into two deaths; its driver was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

Over 12 gas canisters were discovered in a Ford, leading to an FBI investigation and being treated as possible acts of terrorism until proven otherwise.

Florence Ruggiero lives nearby and frequently witnesses accidents at this intersection. Florence states they take place monthly.

Police sources report that the Mazda sedan was traveling at an “extremely high rate of speed” along the Cross Island Parkway — also known as “dead man’s curve” — when it collided with a curb near Exit 36S, according to police sources. All four occupants of the car were ejected and later confirmed as dead at the scene.

What caused the fire?

Following the crash, a fire broke out that took over an hour to extinguish. Investigators later located over 12 gasoline canisters near and inside Ford vehicles as possible causes. They remain unclear as to what sparked it all.

At 1 am on West Ridge Road after the concert with Moe. had concluded at Kodak Center, two vehicles collided violently and sent shockwaves through people in the crosswalk before colliding into two other vehicles and collapsing head on. This accident had serious repercussions for everyone involved and sent one vehicle crashing through into two other cars before careening back onto its original course, injuring several of those present and ultimately into two others vehicles on their path to a stop sign at West Ridge Road.

Investigators are combing through the Uber driver’s devices and social media to gather additional information, particularly as to why there were so many gas cans at the scene of the collision. Furthermore, an official statement was released by band expressing sadness over what has transpired.
