Why Brian Austin Green Texted Luke Perry After His Death?

Brian Austin Green is speaking out about his heartbreaking reaction to Luke Perry’s death as David Silver from Beverly Hills, 90210 for over 10 years. Green told Curtis Stone in an episode of Getting Grilled that after Perry had texted back he held onto hope that perhaps their friendship might continue beyond 90210 and had been hoping that at some point there might be a response – in case there had been something lingering behind.

The day after Luke Perry passed away, Brian Austin Green texted him because he "couldn't really...

Green Said, “I texted him the day after he passed. Just because there was a part of me that was like- No, he’s gonna answer back. He’s hiding somewhere. Or something’s happened.”

Brian also revealed that he and the 90210 cast had come together recently to commemorate Luke. Brian Austin, Doherty and Carteris met up at Gabrielle Carteris’s Riverdale home where they spoke about its impact and its effect on their lives – as well as about Luke himself. “We all talked about how much we miss Luke,” Green stated.

Green, who played Brenda Walsh alongside Tori Spelling as Donna Martin on The Shield (1990 to 2000), revealed their close bond was particularly painful to comprehend. On The Shield they appeared alongside Shannen Doherty (Brenda Walsh), Jennie Garth (Kelly Taylor), Tori Spelling (Donna Martin), Jason Priestley (Brandon Walsh), Ian Ziering (Steve Sanders) and Gabrielle Carteris (Andrea Zuckerman).

Green noted he and Perry enjoyed a “very unique relationship,” which stemmed from their shared interests in music and art. According to Green, they would share songs by similar bands and artists while sharing favorites songs among themselves. Furthermore, at their Los Angeles home they often took Make-A-Wish visitors around their set while meeting all their friends – something Green considered essential for keeping up their friendship. “That was something we always did together and that helped solidify the bond we shared between us,” according to Green.

On Perry’s 54th birthday (which would have fallen on Sunday), many members of BH90210 reunited to remember their longtime friend and actor, taking to social media platforms such as Twitter or Instagram to post loving tributes in his honor.

Perry died suddenly and unexpectedly at his Los Angeles residence after suffering a massive stroke, aged 52.
