The 66th Annual Grammy Awards has announced their initial lineup of performers. Grammy winners Dua Lipa and Billie Eilish as well as Olivia Rodrigo (singer/songwriter) all make appearances, along with Olivia Rodrigo’s presence as singer/songwriter Olivia Rodrigo has multiple nominations this year; Eilish is up for Record and Song of the Year for her hit from Barbie soundtrack “What Was I Made For,” while Rodrigo may take home Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with Labrinth (“Never Felt So Alone”) with Labrinth performing alongside Olivia Rodrigo as an artist who already boasts two Grammy awards during her young career!

Billie Eilish stands out as an anomaly in the teen-pop landscape with her darkly whimsical lyrics and low-end production, making her stand out. Her songs often tackle topics that go unaddressed by industry-created acts, like mental health issues, addiction and climate change. Eilish herself has been diagnosed with Tourette’s Syndrome and Synesthesia; additionally she’s been an advocate for mental wellness alongside artists like Amine, Lindsey Sterling, and Hayley Kiyoko.

Sally has also shown great dedication and support for her peers, marching with Greta Thunberg at student-led climate strikes and providing “Eco-Villages” at her shows for fans to enjoy. At 22 years old, Sally says her joy at receiving multiple nominations has only increased thanks to seeing so many friends receive recognition too!

Eilish’s captivating vocals or Rodrigo’s poetic confessions will have us spellbound on Oscar night. Eilish has received six nominations this year – four related to her soundtrack song for 2024 Barbie movie “What Was I Made For?”, two for best pop solo performance and best music video collaboration with Labrinth for their song, “Never Felt So Alone”.

Grammy Award-winning artist Lipa rose to fame through her distinctively husky voice and songs that blended 1970s disco, 1980s pop, and ’90s club music. Born in London to Anesa and Dukagjin Lipa (who fled Kosovo at the start of Bosnian War 1992), who fled Kosovo, and attended Sylvia Young Theatre School (London).

Rodrigo, 20, has garnered several nominations this year for her critically acclaimed sophomore release Guts. Additionally, she’s nominated in record of the year, song of the year and best pop solo performance categories with “Vampire.” Receiving multiple nods has been thrilling for Rodrigo; seeing friends win accolades only makes the experience more fulfilling.

Olivia Rodrigo

Born and raised in Temecula, California, Rodrigo first rose to fame as part of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. She eventually signed with Interscope and Geffen Records in 2020 and released “Drivers License”, which broke several record charts and went viral on TikTok with users creating cover versions – earning Rodrigo a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Solo Performance. Her debut album Sour was then released later that same year; known for channeling 1990s alternative rock music she joined Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson and Billy Porter for an additional virtual concert performance on Musicians On Call that brought holiday cheer directly to hospital patients!

Rodrigo has earned multiple nominations at this year’s GRAMMYs, with her album Guts and its lead single “Vampire” competing for Album and Song of the Year respectively. Music journalist Laura Snapes referred to Rodrigo as an example of an emerging wave of power ballad songwriters that channel their emotionality inward, opting for more subdued arrangements while exploring realistic perspectives than resilient.

Dua Lipa earned six nominations this year – four from SZA, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, and Dua Lipa (including Record and Song of the Year for “Dance the Night” from Barbie soundtrack and two each for Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance on her LP).
