Nick Carter of Backstreet Boys fame has finally spoken out regarding his sister Bobbie Jean’s demise. The 41-year-old mother to an 8-year-old girl named Bella passed away unexpectedly on Dec 23 in Tampa, Florida due to an unknown cause of death.

Aaron Carter passed away last April from drowning due to inhaling difluoroethane and alprazolam (Xanax). She made appearances on House of Carters reality series as well.

Bobbie Jean “BJ” Carter was found unresponsive in her Tampa, Florida bathroom on Saturday morning and later declared dead by emergency personnel. Her circumstances of death mirrored those of Aaron Carter’s death last year when he took difluoroethane gas and alprazolam (the generic form of Xanax).

Angel Carter, Nick’s sister, also posted an emotional tribute on social media in honor of BJ – noting how she will miss his “warmth, compassion, strength, and beauty”. Angel also provided mental health resources that may assist those experiencing any difficulty.

BJ has struggled with addiction her entire adult life, yet recently has managed to stay out of the spotlight and work as Aaron’s wardrobe stylist during his tours. Her last public appearance occurred in June when she was arrested for allegedly stealing from Hobby Lobby in Florida; police discovered her with an alleged container of fentanyl at that location.

He penned a moving tribute

Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter posted an emotional tribute for Bobbie Jean, his late sister who passed away. Additionally, the post included an old photo of both siblings together as children.

Bobbie Jean Carter of House of Carters fame died recently at the age of 41 after an extended battle with drug abuse and other issues, which she appeared on their reality series about. While appearing on House of Carters she also suffered greatly personally; having multiple arrests over drug-related matters.

TMZ reported that the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Bobbie Jean was found dead at her Tampa residence on December 23, but that the cause of her death remains undetermined as toxicology reports are expected shortly.

This tragedy marks the third tragedy to strike the Carter family within 14 years, after Aaron died of drowning at age 34 due to inhaling difluoroethane propellant and alprazolam (Xanax). Their sister Leslie died due to an accidental overdose.

He shared a sweet moment with his kids

Nick Carter shared a sweet moment between himself, his kids, and their pet on social media recently – drawing both praise and criticism from fans who felt neglected following his sister’s passing.

Bobbie Jean Carter passed away peacefully on December 23 in Tampa, Florida at age 41 after years of grappling with drug addiction and legal trouble, including recent court proceedings regarding her use of alprazolam (the generic form of Xanax). Her death follows shortly after that of Aaron Carter from House of Carters fame who died from inhaling alprazolam while inhaling smoke while bathing. Both deaths took place within less than 12 months.

While Nick Carter has come under criticism from fans for not speaking publicly about the death of his sister, others have supported his right to grieve privately. No stranger on the internet should dictate how celebrities handle tragedies such as this; that doesn’t mean he isn’t feeling grief and may eventually speak about it publicly when ready.

He shared a photo of Bobbie Jean’s daughter

Bobbie Jean Carter has chosen for her 8-year-old daughter to be cared for by family members – grandparents and her aunt being particularly responsible. A source close to the family previously told ET that this responsibility will be “shared.”

Angel, sister to Backstreet Boys alums Bobbie Jean, Leslie and Aaron who passed away, posted an emotional tribute in memory of them, acknowledging the collective childhood trauma they all faced together and encouraging her followers to seek assistance if needed.

Bobbie Jean Carter was found unresponsive in her bathroom at home in Tampa, Florida on Dec 23 and taken to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. At 41, this former child star became the third of her siblings to pass in 14 years following Aaron in 2022 and Leslie in 2012. According to TMZ reports that no specific cause for her death has yet been established but that the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation, while toxicology tests will likely follow shortly thereafter.
