Aubrey Plaza Celebrates Her Parks & Rec Reunion in Super Bowl Ad As fans of hit sitcom ‘Parks and Recreation’ prepare to gather for Big Game parties, they will also tune in to watch some of its stars reunite for one of this year’s commercials. Aubrey Plaza and Nick Offerman will join forces once more during Sunday’s big game to enthrall viewers during a Mountain Dew Baja Blast spot that celebrates both its 20th anniversary of being released for sale into retail stores rather than being exclusive sold exclusively at Taco Bell.

The ad features Plaza and Offerman in comedic situations, from being showered with pool noodles by children to being attacked online gamers and trapped in elevators – each situation providing ample comic relief with each pair finding humor in what could otherwise become awkward situations, always managing to come away saying they had “an absolute blast!”

Fans were given an early look at the commercial via a teaser released on YouTube last week. It features Plaza and Offerman engaging in comic situations while sipping refreshing drinks – in stark contrast with their characters from the show!

Parks and Rec was an acclaimed television show that ran for seven seasons before its cancellation in May 2015. Amy Poehler played Leslie Knope, the show’s fictional parks department director. The main plot centered around Leslie and Ron attempting to solve various issues within Pawnee, Indiana; their quirky dynamic of Ron’s cynical yet charming nature combined with April’s dry sense of humor has become iconic figures that many can identify with.

Plaza was recently interviewed by USA TODAY regarding her appearance in an upcoming Super Bowl commercial, where she raved about its concept and working alongside former co-star Nick Offerman in creating their characters’ parallel universe stories in alternate universe. Plaza noted how effortless their collaboration had been based upon natural chemistry between themselves allowing their work together.

Chris Pratt and Rashida Jones will star in an advertisement created by advertising agency Goodby, Silverstein & Partners that will air during the first quarter of Super Bowl XLII on Feb 5th. Fans can catch it live on CBS or catch an earlier 30-second spot that promotes its new flavor release into retail stores on Feb 11th.
