CBS reports that this year’s Super Bowl reached a record audience of 123.4 million viewers across TV and streaming platforms, surpassing last year’s contest between Chiefs and Eagles which garnered 115.1 million.

Attracting new fans, this game likely attracted audiences due to its nail-biting overtime finish and Taylor Swift’s appearance. Swift currently dates Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce whose romantic relationships has opened the NFL up to newcomers.

Patrick Mahomes has become a major draw for NFL audiences with his impressive passing and touchdown-scoring abilities, drawing viewers in. Plus, pop singer Taylor Swift was there supporting her man Travis Kelce of the Chiefs tight end unit! All this contributed to a riveting television broadcast!
