With just days to go before the 66th annual Grammy Awards air on Sunday, February 4th, Variety reports that Miley Cyrus will make her live TV debut by performing “Flowers.” Cyrus was nominated for Record, Album and Song of the Year with this hit that helped resurrect her career after several underperforming albums and singles (such as last year’s Plastic Hearts ). Its uncluttered production highlights her powerful voice while its lyrics champion self-reliance without snarkiness – something which the Grammys love to recognize and reward.

Billie Eilish’s powerful ballad “What Was I Made For?” stands a serious chance in this category. Resonating with all the beauty that made Cyrus’ track so impactful, and it even served as the background music for Barbie movie mania! While not as commercially successful than Cyrus’ record, Eilish still managed millions of streams and chart climbs within her first week on sale in the US market – something hip-hop, R&B, and rap musicians tend to lack in terms of top categories at Grammy awards awards – which could help Eilish win this year.

This year’s list of Grammy nominees is both diverse and filled with women – an encouraging sign in an age where former CEO/chairman Neal Portnow’s comments that female artists need to step up their game in order to earn more nominations are still fresh in our minds. Indeed, over half of this year’s 94 nominations went to female artists.

This year’s Grammy telecast will also include performances by Drake, Brandy and 21 Savage; Drake will make his return since withdrawing Certified Lover Boy from competition over concerns regarding its treatment by the Recording Academy. In addition, Tracy Chapman is set to return after an extended absence.

Cardi B is nominated for five awards this year, including album of the year for her highly acclaimed rap-inspired pop album Invasion of Privacy. Although she wasn’t selected in the best new artist category, Cardi is likely to prevail against Drake, SZA, Maren Morris and Kendrick Lamar to take home this prize that recognizes artist(s), producer(s) and engineer(s) responsible for crafting any specific recording project – it should make for an exciting race – cast your vote now to help decide who comes out on top! Winner announced on February 10! Click here for full lineup.
